Verizon 5G Flagship
VERIZON 5G FLAGSHIP STORE EXPERIENCE IN DOWNTOWN CHICAGO
Verizon 5G has the speed and ability to change the way we live, and is about to be released across the nation. The problem is that most consumers don’t know what it is and are slow to adapt new devices that take advantage of this new tech. We were tasked to create a live retail experience in Downtown Chicago that educated and inspired consumers on the applications and benefits of this new technology.
We developed the concept, content, UX and UI design for the entire store. This included a combination of over 7 interactive, gesture-based screens, utilizing Microsoft’s latest Azure Kinnect camera and groups of LG’s new 4K curved screens. We developed new software frameworks to implement the UI we designed in order to create playful and content-driven learning experiences.
The content, which was meticulously sourced from archives of Verizon spots, documentaries and broadcasts, focused on inspiring and educating consumers around the possibilities enabled by Verizon 5G. Plus we created game that helped consumers to better understand the technical characteristics of 5G, like latency, capacity, and increased speeds. To test this we build a complete mock-up of the store in a warehouse and had consumers and executives walk through. We then took our learnings and applied them to the finished product which is set to open in Downtown Chicago.

Walls That Inspire, Educate, and Have Real Purpose
We created video walls that had very specific purposes during the customer journey. We placed a massive monolith in the atrium entrance to catch peoples eyes, attract them and lead them into the store. Long wide walls had gesture based games when interacted with and inactive states that pushed superiority claims and statistics.
